Lessons of Texas Avenue Redevelopment

Hey ReFormers! We hope you are having a great weekend. Here is a recent article from our director, Tim Wright, about some change that is happening on Texas Avenue. This article was inspired by our first Strong Towns Keynote Event, where Chuck Marohn shared his philosophy on how an environment that is chaotic but smart spurs innovation and avoids costly mistakes in a city.

The article highlights some classic spots like Herby K’s, as well as some new developments like Eleven Events and Louisiana Daiquiri Cafe. We hope you will read and not only learn about some cool stuff going on, but think about the role that regulation plays in ReForming our core neighborhoods in Shreveport.

Have you experienced any thing similar to what is outlined in the article? Have you been to any areas in the core of our city that you think can be ReFormed but face a challenge that can be solved? Shoot us an email or send us a message on Facebook!
